Volunteering in Parks

A gift of time and knowledge builds legacies.

Each year hundreds of volunteers contribute thousands of hours. These enthusiastic, talented people make significant contributions. Their gift helps create a legacy that we can all be proud of - a network of over 500 parks and protected areas where Alberta residents and visitors to the province can experience and learn about our heritage through a range of outdoor recreation, interpretive and education services.

Ways to Volunteer

Individual volunteers and volunteer organizations participate in numerous ways:

• public advisory committees
• public relations
• assisting with education and interpretation
• assisting with special events like Parks Day
• exhibit and publication development
• photography
• scientific studies and research
• facility and trail development and maintenance
• administrative support

You can volunteer for one or more of these existing programs:

• Campground Hosts
• Stewards
• Cooperating Associations
• Other organized groups
