Artists and Education

The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) supports arts residency programs in Alberta schools through the Artists and Education project grant program.

The Artists and Education program enables schools to bring professional Alberta artists into their classrooms for residency programs ranging from one to thirty days in length. Arts residencies encourage students' creativity and advance K-12 curricula in fine arts and non-fine arts subjects. Visual artists, actors, dancers, musicians, writers and storytellers have been involved in AFA funded residency programs throughout Alberta.

Schools can partner with any professional Alberta artist who has school residency experience, or use the program's Artist Roster, artists' profiles and program proposals, to connect with an artist suitable for your school and students.
